High Strength PE Multifilament Trawl Net — Anti-UV Corrosion-Resistant Double Knot
Bottom trawling beats a net harder than any other gear — constant abrasion on sand and rock, full-length drag loads on every tow, and direct sun between hauls. This PE multifilament trawl net is built for that duty cycle: double-knotted so the mesh keeps its shape under strain, UV-stabilized and corrosion-coated so panels hold up season after season in offshore saltwater.
Built for the Trawl Duty Cycle
- Double knot at every intersection — single knots slip under tow load and the mesh distorts into irregular openings, changing selectivity and adding drag; double knots hold the geometry at spec through hundreds of tows
- UV-stabilized PE — wings and upper panels bake in the sun between hauls; unstabilized polyethylene embrittles after a season, while UV-stabilized yarn keeps working
- Corrosion-resistant coating — salt concentrates at the knots where abrasion has thinned the yarn; the coating protects the knot zone, the most stressed point in the panel
- PE over PA for bottom work — PE costs less per kilo and tows with lower drag; its low stretch is an advantage in a towed panel, because a stretchy net opens up under load and lets fish escape
- Panel-replaceable design — bags and codends wear out first; buy replacement panels instead of a whole new net when the belly gives out

Specifying Your Trawl Net
Two numbers drive a trawl netting order: mesh size and depth (meshes down). Common starting points:
- 40–60 mm — shrimp and prawn trawls; keep the codend mesh to local regulation while body panels run larger
- 60–100 mm — whitefish and mixed demersal trawls; larger openings up front reduce drag
- 100 mm+ — large pelagics and heavy bottom gear where retention depends on strength, not fine openings
Tell us your target species, towing depth and vessel setup, and we will advise twine diameter, panel layout and hanging ratio instead of shipping a one-size net.
