Reading "100 MD" Before You Order

MD stands for mesh-down — depth counted in mesh rows, not metres. Actual hanging depth depends on mesh size and hanging ratio: at 30 mm mesh, 100 MD stretches roughly 3 m and hangs about half that in the water; at 80 mm mesh, the same 100 MD gives more depth but a coarser, more open wall.

• 30–40 mm mesh — small species and shallow coastal sets; 100 MD makes a tall, fine wall
• 50–65 mm mesh — the mid-size workhorse band most fleets actually fish
• 70–80 mm mesh — larger fish and deeper water; the same 100 MD covers more vertical reach
