Multi-Monofilament Gillnet — PA6 Double Knot, 0.20mm × 12-Ply, Customizable Mesh (3/8" – 9")
Commercial gillnetters face a constant trade-off: single-strand monofilament catches well but tears on rocky ground, while heavy twisted twine survives but shows up in clear water. This net sits between the two — a 0.20 mm PA6 filament twisted into a 12-ply strand, giving each mesh leg monofilament visibility with multi-ply abrasion tolerance.
Twelve Plys, One Purpose
- 12-ply multi-monofilament — a nick in one filament does not end the net; the rest carry the load until repaired
- Double-knotted at every intersection — the knot, not the filament, is where gillnets fail; double knots hold under hauling
- Mesh 3/8" to 9" — one spec covers shad, herring, walleye, carp, salmon; change mesh, keep the rest
- 50–800 m length, 50–100 md depth — one plan scales from small lakes to open-sea strings
- Grey finish — the compromise between clear-water invisibility and a net you can see on deck

Matching Mesh to Your Fishery
Mesh opening should roughly match the girth of the fish at its widest point — a fish is gilled, not squeezed:
- 3/8" – 1" — baitfish, herring, shad, smelt
- 1.5" – 2.5" — walleye, carp, mullet, mid-size inshore species
- 3" – 9" — salmon, large pelagics, deep-set programs
Depth follows the same logic: 50 md is lighter for shallow lakes, 100 md covers the water column offshore — most crews on mixed grounds order both depths in one mesh.
