PP / PE Industrial Nylon Rope — Heavy-Duty Plastic Rope for Fishing & Marine

The rope that is perfect for a mooring line is often the wrong rope for a net frame line — the difference is not the diameter printed on the label but how the material behaves wet, loaded and left in the sun. This industrial line is made in PP, PE or nylon, in 3-strand twisted or 8-strand braided construction, from 4 to 60 mm, so you spec the behavior you need, not just a number.

Material and Construction Are the Spec

• PP floats — polypropylene is the lightest of the three and floats, which makes it right for float lines and any rigging that must stay off the seabed; it is also the economical choice where abrasion is moderate
• PE balances cost and UV life — UV-stabilized PE outlasts PP in full sun and salt, and is the common pick for gillnet headropes and general marine lashing
• Nylon absorbs shock — nylon stretches under load and absorbs surge and snatch loads that snap low-stretch ropes, which is why mooring lines are usually nylon; the trade-offs are higher cost and a strength loss when wet that PP and PE do not show
• Twisted vs braided — 3-strand twisted is cheaper, easier to splice and stiffer; 8-strand braided runs smoother through blocks and resists chafe on sharp edges, at a higher price per meter
• 4–60 mm range — from fine snood lines to mooring hawsers; send the working load and application and we will advise the construction rather than overspec the diameter

Two rules avoid most failures: do not use PP where the rope must sink or will sit in strong sun for years, and do not use nylon where you need low stretch — a stretchy frame line lets the net sag and changes the way it fishes.
